Ms.Anita & DeAndre Thorntona-Bennett on Black Student issues

DeAndre Thorntona-Bennett is a senior at Laguna Creek High School and an active member in his community and school. He currently is the president of his school's Black Student Union, and was the Activities Director for three years prior. He is also on the Elk Grove Youth Commission, appointed by Mayor Jim Cooper. DeAndre acts as a Youth Ambassador for the Alpha Academy, presented by Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity in Sacramento, CA. DeAndre enjoys making and writing music, as well as performing his original music. His dedication and commitment to family is DeAndre's joy. A strong family foundation is very much present in his life. DeAndre plans on attending college and majoring in Communications with a minor in Marketing.
