Doreen Upshaw is a professional counselor, speaker, mother, and advocate for healthy family relationships. As the founder of Compass Counseling & Support Services, Doreen specializes in counseling women, men, and children through trauma, grief, domestic violence, marriage, and mental health related issues. She provides individual and group counseling, in addition to play and art therapy. As facilitator of the "Fathers Matter" and "Father Forum" programs, Doreen fosters a safe space for fathers to grow, take advantage of holistic resources, and receive counseling services. With a passion to empower her community, Doreen has worked extensively with families as a Nursery and Childcare Director, In-Home Family Counselor, and Director of Service and Leadership at The Pittsburgh Project, giving over sight to its Out-of-School-Time programs, summer day camps, homeowner services, and care programs. Doreen is an alumna of Carlow University, Geneva College, and Community College of Allegheny County in her hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
