An interview with David Chura, author of the newly released I Don't Wish Nobody to Have a Life Like Mine: Tales of Kids in Adult Lockup. Chura taught high school for ten years in a New York county jail and saw first hand the effects that harsh sentencing laws have on youth incarcerated as adults. He introduces the reader to the children behind the laws, their families, wardens, correctional officers, and doctors and weaves their stories together to show the vivid consequences of placing youth in the adult justice system.
