Nearly fifty percent of all pedestrian injuries and fatalities occur on Shabbos. Every seven seconds, a pedestrian is injured or killed – and most of these fatalities occur in urban areas, according to a variety of sources including the U.S. Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. With these statistics in mind, Jewish community member and entrepreneur David Hess, founder and owner of safety product manufacturer Luminosity International, has created ShmiraWear.
