In recognition of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month,. Be very aware of suspicious emails. Especially at work, criminals have been known to pose as a trusted source, such as your CEO or even your HR department. They might ask you to "confirm" personal information, or worse, require you to perform a financial transaction that turns out to be fraudulent. And of course, never respond to an email from a company that you already have an account with, but they are asking you to send money directly or input sensitive information like a Social Security number, password or account number. Instead, go the company's website and verify the request through a secure login, or call the company's customer service number.
