2013 is Year of the Snake and arrived on February 4, 2013 for Chinese New Year. Most Chinese Jamaicans are Hakka and can trace their origin to the Chinese laborers that came to Jamaica in the mid-19th to early 20th centuries. Jeanette Kong is a Jamaican Chinese and an independent filmmaker. Her documentary is called “The Chiney Shop”.
