Every family will experience some storm in their lives, but how you respond to the storm determines how you come out of it. Fathers leave for one reason or the other, a parent dies, a child dies or runs away, caught up in drugs, homes lost, job lost, what ever the cause of the storm, bonding and praying together will carry you through the storm.

Family comprises of more than one and means togetherness, accompanyment, support, comfort and refuge. All of these should exist in families but ever so often they are absent and when the storm of life confronts that family some members crumble, some run away, some fall into depression, some become reclusive even though they are all present.

This is so sad. I watched my mom for years in pain for the lost of her son. Sher never recovered when her last son died tragically. She lost all care for life and the rest of her children. She lost her zest for life, abandoned all of her friends and relatives.

We knew she was in pain but so were we for the loss of the baby of the family, but we also lost her. We rallied around each other exercising all the patience and love towards our mom helping her in her grief.

Today I want to encourage you through your difficult time. You are probably feeling abandoned, you feel as if no one cares or understands what it feels like to go through such pain, but I want you to know that you are not alone and that your God cares for you and wants to carry your through this tough time.

What ever you are going through at this time, I encourage you to run to God for help and direction. David declared in confidence to God in Psalms 138:7-8 "though I walk in the midst of trouble, you will revive me: You shall stretch forth your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and your right hand shall save me. The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: your mercy, O Lord, endureth forever: forsake not the works of your own hands."
