States say "NO!" to Syrian Refugees. Is it immoral/anti-Christian to say no?

The Syrian refugee issue has become a very hot potato that could turn into an explosive situation. As Governors across the country declare they do not want these people in their States an equal number of people are saying we cannot turn them away. At the center of this issue are two "simple" guestions: 1) He security and safety of our country and its citizens,,,the #1 responsibility to the people . 2. As a country that constantly says we are a "Christian Country built on Christian Principles", how can we not accept those being persecuted and facing death?
