Each of us is surrounded by addicts, of some sort, every day of our lives; whether we are aware of it or not. And knowingly or unknowingly, we have developed strategies and thought processes to deal with the behaviors of the addicts we encounter. And the coping methods we have built up, often fail to work outside of the situation with the particular addict or addicts we deal with. Yet we have honed them so well that they have become second nature. And when we use the in the outside world, we are often stunned by the fact that they don’t work the way we think they should.
