2001 is the year Americans will always remember, especially 9-11. However, tragedy struck months before when Hofstra honor student, Max Kolb lost his life to a fellow student. Missing for several weeks, his mutilated boday was found in a shallow grave near the oceanfront apartment of Shaun Alexander.

The Friends of Max Kolb telethon, an annual showcase produced by Hofstra University students in memory of Kolb, aired for the sixteenth and final time recently.  Laura Fu, a 2002 Hofstra graduate and a close friend of Kolb’s, started the telethon in 2002 to raise money for the school’s film students.
