Combat Corner #21: WWE Payback, NJPW Wrestling Dontaku, and Global Wars

This week, Scott returns and is greeted by a big week of pro wrestling around the globe.

WWE's latest Network Special/Pay-Per-View took place last Sunday and Payback was full of booking decisions that were curious to say the least.

New Japan had their yearly show in Fukuoka this Tuesday, headlined by Tetsuya Naito's first IWGP heavyweight title defense, Seiya Sanada's New Japan in-ring debut, and the NEVER openweight title match between Katsuyori Shibata and Yuji Nagata.

And this coming Sunday, Ring of Honor will have their yearly joint Pay-Per-View with New Japan Pro Wrestling. Phil will be at the show in Chicago and both he and Scott will preview the show, which is headlined by several ROH vs. New Japan matches as well as Jay Lethal defending the ROH world title against Colt Cobana.

Also, the return of Jon Jones to UFC and the debut of Ben Henderson in Bellator MMA that Phil didn't have time for last week will begin this week's show.
