A South Florida filmmaker and creative consultant, Jose Jacho is prominent figure in the local film industry. Besides being involved in movies himself and being a director, he also created Indie Film Club, a way for actors to hear about auditions. But he didn't stop there. He also founded the South Florida chapter of a worldwide networking group IndieClub.com, where he hosted renowned networking events and screenings in South Beach hotels and high-end hotspots. He eventually went on to co-found the non-profit organization Indie Film Club Miami. Through IFCM, he has helped create legendary events, such as the monthly “I’m Not Gonna Move to L.A” which celebrates the local film community, paying special tribute those talented filmmakers who make this city the cultural wonder that it is. These events consistently sell out and have been featured in the Sun Sentinel, Miami Herald, SoFlo Radio, and the Miami New Times. In February 2012, he and IFCM will hold FilmGate, a 3-day interactive film and transmedia festival, the first of it’s kind. FILMGATE will showcase creative projects which spotlight cross-platform storytelling techniques, developments in gear and technology, as well as an array of workshops designed to engage South Florida’s visual artists and ?lmmakers.
