Dietitian Danielle Omar has created a virtual grocery shopping tour she's going to tell us a little more about. Tune in to learn how you can participate! Danielle Omar, MS, RD, is a Fairfax, Virginia working mom who has to balance her professional pursuits with a busy home life. She knows how easy it can be to fall into roller-coaster eating patterns when life gets hectic. With a Master’s degree in Health Sciences and Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and experience managing nutritional care at all levels – Danielle has proven her competence many times over. Her professional history includes the development of company-wide wellness programs and recognition awards, including Employee of the Year at Lifetime Fitness. In addition to private counseling, Danielle has over ten years experience as an adjunct professor in nutrition science. Danielle is active in media. She has contributed to nutrition related news stories for local affiliates at CBS and ABC, as well as major entertainment outlets such as the The New York Times and the Food Network. Danielle is frequently asked to comment on health stories for The Washington Post and has been featured on Daily Candy. Danielle writes a food and nutrition blog called Food Confidence and serves as a member of the Social Media Advisory Board for America's Wellness Challenge, a campaign centered on the Council For Responsible Nutrition's three pillars of wellness: healthy diet, exercise, and appropriate supplementation. Danielle also consults for businesses, restaurants, healthcare organizations, and community groups.
