Consequences for not turning when corrected

The main focus here is that all of the “sons” are strongly exhorted to embrace the discipline measures of God as the method for qualifying each to be partakers of His holiness. However there is a caution emphasized that both the uncooperative one as also the cooperative one will do well to pay attention. The uncooperative one should never dismiss the various trials and sufferings as unimportant or unnecessary; likewise the cooperative one must never over emphasize that such things are designated as our portion in life, as though there is nothing else that comprises or exemplifies the life of a Christian. The balanced way is to accept God’s chosen method to infuse us with Himself that is, each time a trial or hardship comes our way it is not just for the squeezing out of some detestable attitude or habits, but filling those empty places with godly character and His nature.
