Should town government be reformed in North Attleboro, MA

Part 2 of a series.

For two years in a row, the voters of the Town of North Attleboro, Massachusetts, have been asked to vote on a non-binding question which basically asks if they want to switch to a Mayor/Council form of government, or if they want to keep the current Board of Selectmen/Representative Town Meeting/Town Administrator form of government.

A series of educational hearings by a Governmenr Education Committee will be held in the coming months (one has already been held), with the issue currently planned on going to a vote before the Representative Town Meeting in October.

The issue of government reform in North Attleboro evokes strong feelings on both sides of the issue, but do the people of North Attleboro really want a change in their form of government, or is this just wishful thinking on the part of government reform proponents?

We'll examine the proposed changes to town government in North Attleboro, the effects it will have on local politics, and how these changes will impact the small-town nature of our community!
