I have known Debra Gaynor since soon after she began what has become a major player in the book reviewing business. I have been proud to be one of her many, many reviewers. Her ethics, sense of humor, and good nature has enabled her to develop a reviewing business dependent on “volunteer”readers. Getting an award from her READERS FAVORITE has taken on increasing prestige. She herself reads hundreds of books yearly and she has competent opinions on books, authors, and what they write.Today we will be discussing whether children’s and young adults’ books have morphed into too explicit violence. I asked Deb to discuss this after I read an article written by a prominent librarian who makes the case for some kind of interventions to keep children, teens, young adults from exposure to what she believes are undermining our society’s moral behaviors.
