Seriously, I could get dizzy - telling you about the accomplishments and the talents of our guest, Russel Blake.  Son of the Latin musical great, Alexander Blake - and brother to esteemed bassist, Alex - fellow bass lover, Russel, has followed a unique and powerful path.

Self-taught, he has shared his plethora of gifts in over 65 countries - not just playing music, mind you, though that would be enough!  But Russel is also blessed to have a motivational nature, inspiring hundreds at a time with spiritual guidance and positive reinforcement.  He has also served as an Ambassador of Good Will, via the U.S. State Department, to eight West African nations.  On top of that, he has lectured on the symbiotic nature of Science and Music - all the while, steadfastly maintaining the existence of God in that picture.  Fascinating might be an understatement :)

With musical projects under his belt as leader (we'll hear tracks!), Russel has, as well, accompanied and/or recorded with Sonny Rollins, Chaka Khan, Wynton Marsalis and more.  He has played his bass (trust me, he's a visionary on that instrument - and you'll hear why!) for the productions of "The Lion King" and "Dreamgirls" - as well as Mary Mary and Angie Stone.

As the author of "Proverbs 31: The Virtuous Black Woman, Vol. 1", Russel Blake has commanded a new audience - one that is faithful to his unwavering commitment to honoring women on every level.  He'll talk about that next CHAPTER, if you will, and he will also share some exciting plans about what 2014 is perceived to hold for him, God willing.  He's say that, so I said it FOR him :)  It's an honor - and with deep gratitude - that we present the most beloved and respected Russel Blake to you.  Show time at one p.m.  Russel joins us at two p.m. EST.
