Hybrid Jazz From Trish Hennessey - with Theresa Grayson!

Little Theresa from Tyler, Texas got her groove on EARLY! Maybe it was the family's move to Houston that did it...whoever we need to thank, we will - but let it be known that a tiny girl managed to learn piano, reeds, and guitar.  But fell in LOVE with the saxophone.  And became so proficient that she was the talk of her grade school.  The musicianship that Theresa displayed was such that she was asked to play in Church.  As we all know, once immersed in the feel of a sanctuary changes you forever.  She knew that and something propelled our guest to study HARD over the next several years.

Under the tutelage of internationally known instructors, she received her degree in music performance and Jazz Studies.  TWO masters degrees later (!!!), Theresa Grayson is on her way to a Doctorate.  The power of passionate education and love for music cannot be stated enough.

Inspirations: Coltrane, Parker, Getz and Grover.  But she is compelled to do ALL kinds of genres on stage - which is where she feels obliged to help and heal.  And, by the way, she has SHARED that stage with Ronnie Laws, Joe Sample and Michael Bolton - to name a few!  

Theresa's sophomore release, "Live2Love" is more than just terrific music for our ears to enjoy.  It's how she conducts her life.  And it's a pleasure to hear more of that philosophy combined with the songs that we'll play - when this beautiful saxophonist joins us next time on "Hybrid Jazz!"  Talent as WIDE as the state of Texas: you better believe it  :-D
