John Lohr will interview Dan Bott Sr. CIMC®, CRC®, First Vice President-Investments, Institutional Consultant at The Bott Group of Merrill Lynch. Previously, Dan was managing director at Bott & Associates of Wachovia Securities and Senior Vice President Consulting Group Director at Salomon Smith Barney. Dan began his career at Kidder Peabody in July 1975. In 1987 he became the first Certified Investment Management Consultant (CIMC) in the world while at EF Hutton which later became Salomon Smith Barney.  He founded and led an international not-for-profit educational organization (IIMC) to enhance the knowledge and professionalism of investment management consultants.  He then created the first advisory board and body of knowledge which evolved into a national rollout of the Certified Investment Management Consultant (CIMC) education and designation program. 

 

In 2002, the organization was merged into The Investment Management Consultants Association which was co-founded by Dan Bott in 1985. He also created the initial CIMA designation and granted transfer of the designation to IMCA for its future development as a professional education program.
