As a performing Artist you have to keep it all about the music. At the same time get your business sense up and running and only use the word trust in reverence to God. A performing artist is a walking product, a “Brand” as business people in the music industry will call you. Record companies these days have designated The New Artist as their Savior; however, what the new artist does is beg to be their slave. The New Artist wants a record deal so badly; they’re willing to give up more than they will ever know. There’s such a small percentage of artist benefiting from the 360 deal and the only ones I know of are the ones that had their foot already in the door. I call this artist, “The Bait”. As Lloyd would say “100 percent of nothing is nothing”. But what kind of person would put a price tag on their integrity and pride. You may not bring in millions with your music after signing a “Deal” but at least you will be able to look yourself in the mirror sober. The world is filled with artists trying to make it, but it is also filled with artists that are genuine to their craft and true to their music. Trina Mashell is that such artist. From her first CD, “Time Wasted”, she pours her southern soul into “Tired”, “Tonight” and “Mama Said”, twelve songs with lyrics touching your heart and putting flavor to your ears. There are no throw away tracks on this first work of art. The industry knocks on the door of a talent such as this but every artist has to be the one to maintain the power and the direction of their career. Hosted by Ghetto "G.G." Gospel and Lisa Michelle Garrett.
