When I joined CD Baby in 2005, they gave me much information in the indie world. One thing that stayed with me is, as an Artist, whatever you do, is not art until someone hears it. This is the drive that keeps Hotwordz Lyrical Theater moving. Internet technology has giving musicians and Indie recording artist the opportunity to share their art and be heard. It is not promised for anyone to “blow up” or become an “overnight success” and personally, being a one hit wonder on someone’s list in a trivia game is not the kind of art I want. We use our gifts and talents in hope that we will someday put down our “alter ego” jobs. We push in the direction of living a life doing something we love. Yes, one day we yearn to make money in the music business. But what does an indie artist do if they have no concept of business? Does the average musician know anything about profit sharing? Do they realize it’s more than being good because there is a lot of talent out there? Whether you have pursued your craft for five, ten, or fifteen years, does that make you a failure? Hotwordz say no. We continue working, pursuing, keeping our music in every venue we can. We place no limits on our goals or dreams. We close no door to our careers. We network with other Indie Artist while we bus tables, serve your drink, bring you your food, direct you to your room, and as we keep an eye on your commercial business, we write. We continue putting our art out there enjoying the ride. Hotwordz Lyrical Theater is dedicated to searching for Indie/Unsigned Artist everywhere showcasing them on the show. This is their platform to be heard and as we spin their music to listeners, you, the artist are validated and your work is art.-Ghetto Gospel **HOTdrop by Mz. Skribble & Lyric
