Hope42Day interviews Ambassadors of Hope from across the globe, in other words, people who are up to good things (for others) in this world.

Join us for Halloween, Wednesday, October 31, 2012, when host  Lynn Kindler interviews the vivacious, the lovely, the Amazing Songstress, the giver of hope to many...Award Winning Musician Ms. Sara Hickman!

Sara is an Official State Musician of Texas. She served from May 2010-May 2011, as decreed by the Texas State Legislature. Currently she is working on material for what will be her 12th major CD to be released in summer of 2012. She creates music for adults, families and children. In honor of her role as state musician, Sara wants to give back to her home state. In May 2011 she released “The Best of Times", a compilation CD of her songs recorded by other amazing Texas musicians, including Willie Nelson, Marcia Ball, Shawn Colvin, Edie Brickell & New Bohemians, Ruthie Foster and 25 other musical acts. All proceeds go to Theatre Action Project; a group that goes out and helps put art, music and theatre back into public schools. Sara has released "Absence of Blame," her most recent CD; put out an animated DVD for children entitled, “Big Kid, Little Kid” (which immediately won Dr. Toy’s award for Best Summer Vacation item), and produced “Sweet Songs”, a collection of Austin female musicians singing songs for families. She’s known for her one-of-a-kind live shows, which can vary from intimate and soothing to hilarious and rocking. She can deliver it all as a solo performer or part of either her adult driven or rocking children’s band. Whether it’s the “Tonight Show”, Carnegie Hall, outdoor amphitheaters, schools or house concerts, Sara is excited to bring her joyful, creative music to her audience.
