National speaker and author of Finding Hope for Your Journey through Breast Cancer, Yvonne Ortega will interview Georgia Shaffer. Georgia is a breast cancer survivor, an author, a Licensed Psychologist in PA and a certified life coach. In 1989, after a recurrence of breast cancer, Georgia was given a 2% chance to be alive in 10 years. Today she continues to be in remission although in 1997 she confronted ovarian cancer. Georgia says, "While there are more cancer survivors than ever before, far too many people struggle with the emotional aftermath that comes with a diagnosis and treatment." In her award-winning book, A Gift of Mourning Glories: Restoring Your Life after Loss, Georgia answers the question, "OK, I'm a survivor—now what? Georgia is one of 12 cancer survivors featured in the film, "Letters to God." She is on the teaching team of the American Association of Christian Counselors' (AACC) DVD series, Challenging Cancer and also on their Courageous Living Series: Cancer: Seven Things You Need to Know to Help.
