In todays' episode, we will be interviewing Bob Nevins, founder of Saratoga Warhorse. Saratoga WarHorse provides a 3-day confidential, peer-to-peer, equine-based program to veterans struggling with the effects of PTSD, sleeplessness or suicidal thoughts. The cost of the program is entirely covered for qualified veterans. Classes are held in our Saratoga, New York facility where veterans are paired with off-the-track thoroughbreds through a non-traditional program culminating in a life altering experience. The focus is on communicating in the horse’s own language, which creates a trusting relationship with the horse and an emotionally empowering experience for the veteran. Bob served in Vietnam as a medevac pilot for the 101st Airborne, wounded in action in 1971. He also served in the NY National Guard. In 2011 Bob retired from his 24-year career as an airline captain to dedicate his efforts full-time to the WarHorse Project. Feel free to call in to ask questions of Bob aboout his program.
