Ms. E will interview James Byrum, Board Member of SANE/SART (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner/Sexual Assault Response Team) a program founded in 1988 to provide physical exams of children in cases of suspected child assaults, a need not met by any other organization in Napa or Solano Counties, which has now grown to cover medical-legal exams of sexual assault victims of all ages.
Still the only provider of these essential services in Napa and Solano Counties, each year SANE/SART provides over 150 medical-legal examinations, providing emotional support to the victim at the time of the exam, and advocacy, counseling support, and expert testimony throughout the criminal justice process.
