Our guest will be Sameerah Ali, Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (www.sammobilemed.com) in Nashville, Tennessee. We will discuss the effect of healthcare of African Americans today in light from the end of slavery to now. 

In spite of progress in some areas of society, health disparities remain a major problem in the African American community. To help dissect this issue, Sameerah will share the importance of medical care and nutrition can be the key to bridging the gap in quality health care.

All over the country, African Americans will be celebrating this event.  In Nashville, TN. This Sunday, June 19th will be the 151rd anniversary and celebration of Juneteenth.  On this date in 1865 the end of slavery was announced in Galveston, TX two and half years AFTER the Emancipation Proclamation was in effect.
