Sandra Hoskins is the president of The Kellan Group and a project manager in Winnipeg. She tells the story of how her grandfather, George Wallace (born 1865), was one of the first feminists she knew. He raised eleven children and went to extraordinary lengths to ensure his daughters had equal opportunity and access to education as his sons did. He was considered crazy by his peers for 'wasting his money on girls who would just marry anyway' but George knew what it was like to be born in an underprivileged position.

Sandra goes on to discuss how her grandfather's feminist beliefs impacted the life of her mother and her life as well. Sandra shares a full circle moment when she spoke at a convention last year alongside American feminist, journalist, and social and political activist Gloria Steinem and what they discussed over dinner.
