The HBA is a global nonprofit organization comprised of individuals and organizations from across the healthcare industry committed to:

  • achieving gender parity in leadership positions
  • facilitating career and business connections  AND
  • providing effective practices that enable organizations to realize the full potential of their female talent

Our program series, is  titled “A Mosaic of HBA Talent Advancing the Healthcare Industry” where will will explore emerging job roles and trends in this ever changing industry.

Our discussion today is titled, “The Rare Difference” where we will learn about the nuances of working with  rare diseases vs. working with products and services that support widespread and well-known disease states such as diabetes and heart disease.

To provide a balanced perspective on this discussion, I have 2 HBA Members joining me, Linda Calandra, who is the Lead for Oncology and  Rare Disease Communications at Shire, and Nicole Horvath who is a Regulatory Manager at Pfizer and a rare disease advocate and patient.
