Hard Hits Weekend Blitz is back for an overnight sports podcast. Hosted by Derek Flex Felix and featuring Justin JNF Felix, John “JPG” Giagnorio, Retirement Rawb, Colin Cannaday and Brian Sanborn, it’s another busy sports weekend in mid-August. Only two weeks remain in the heat wave of summer. Here are the hot topics: 

1.The Yankees honor the 1998 team. A 20 Year Anniversary and celebration of a truly great and memorable team. Luis Severino gets his 16th win by going 5 plus with 2 walks and 8 K’s and 2 ER in a 11-5 win over Toronto. Giancarlo goes deep again for the ninth time since Aaron Judge went on the DL. Greg Bird gets a much needed home run. Didi stays hot and Miggy Andujar solidifies his Rookie of The Year candidacy.

2.Jacob DeGrom wins again by going the distance for a complete game in a Mets win over the contending Phillies. DeGrom lowers his ERA below 1.80. Is the Cy Young his? 

3.The Dodgers Mount a furious rally on 3 solo shots off Alex Colome and Edwin Diaz including a bomb from Cody Bellinger and a tying homer from Max Muncy. But they lose to Seattle in excruciating fashion on a bases loaded balk. 

4.The Athletics beat the Astros again 7-1 to tie for the AL West lead. They have been on a roll. Is there any stopping them? A Astros/Yankees ALCS rematch in a one game elimination wildcard? 

5.NFL Preseason. Deshaun Watson is sharp in his return for the Texans. A serious AFC contender? Plus more.
