This anointing by a sinful woman is in Luke only. The Matthew, Mark and John’s anoints are not the same. There are considerable differences in the circumstances of their anoints to believe they are one and the same; to believer different is to think Dr. Luke changed the circumstances for a desired outcome is highly unlikely...

The narrative consists of Jesus’ response to the ‘’thoughts of Simon’’ (vv 39-47) and His response to the actions of the unnamed woman and the gossip of the dinner guests (vv 48-50). All in all, the narration demonstrates Jesus is a mind reader and a heart regulator and a forgiver of sins...
