Travis Waters returns as my special guest due to popular demand and to announce the completion of the film documentary of his life’s journey through ambition, shattered dreams, drug smuggling, prison life, and finally redemption. His documentary is entitled “ The West Coast Kid,” Inspired by the autobiography of the same name.

Despite having a positive role model in his life, Travis wanted it all for himself. His promising high school basketball came to an abrupt end when he failed to graduate due to too many absences his senior year.

Throwing his scholarship chances away, he dove headlong into the seedy world of drug smuggling. Unbeknownst to him, he was bringing tens of thousands of pounds of marijuana and cocaine into the country for none other than Medellín cartel kingpin Pablo Escobar. All of that came to a screeching halt when a 40,000 pound load was stolen from him. On the run from the cartel he made a deal with the government.

But life on the inside of prison turned into his most horrific nightmares. Forced into playing basketball to make money for gangs, he was constantly beaten - and worse - merely for winning the game he loved.

After a near fatal attack in the prison yard, he was finally transitioned to a work release program and eventually won his freedom. His documentary was published to spread his story to steer at-risk youth away from the drug scene. His story will reveal the nasty truth about the real world of illegal drugs, and inspire many people to avoid this dangerous life.
