Whether in religion, politics, or even in the atheist and Humanist communities, gender equality is an important cause.

But there’s a new form of radical feminism that is tearing up the secular community.

With controversial accusations of serial rape, allegations of misogyny, claims that protective measures are simply “victim blaming” and “promoting a rape culture,” many are concerned about the path feminism is taking.

A fantastic panel of guests will be joining us to talk about the behavior of the “petulant goddesses” of the politically-correct, angry branch of feminism that appears to be enjoying some popularity in the secular community … and the positive work of Humanism that can promote gender equality and embrace a calmer, wiser version of feminism.  Due to space limits here at BlogTalk, please visit our official show page for our guests’ bios and websites.

Topics will include:

  • Ethics and Journalism, with Becky Garrison, journalist and religion writer at The Washington Post’s On Faith column, The Guardian, Killing the Buddha and many other publications;
  • Positive Feminism in the Real World (and other topics), with EllenBeth Wachs, Founder and Co-President of Atheists and Humanists of Florida;
  • Feminism:  The Hard Way, with atheist blogger Jen August; and
  • Male Feminists and Misogyny, with Matthew Facciani, Cognitive Neuroscience PhD Candidate.

We’re interested in callers’ experiences and opinions about feminism and the freethought community.
