The Second Sunday of Advent is a reflective and prayerful season for the Church. St. John the Baptist in the Gospel reminds us to be hopeful through repentance in expectation of the birth of the Word Made Flesh. We seek to prepare through prayer and sacrament for the Incarnation born into our recollected hearts and minds first through the Christmas gift of our own Baptism, faith, hope, and charity infused by the Holy Spirit.
