Get Up Nation®! My name is Ben Biddick. I’m the Creator and Host of the Get Up Nation® Show and Co-Author of Get Up: The Art of Perseverance with former Major League Baseball player Adam Greenberg. Recently I had the honor and privilege of speaking with Kristi Hugstad. She’s the author of Beneath the Surface: A Teen’s Guide to Reaching Out When You or Your Friend Is in Crisis from New World Library. Kristi is a certified grief recovery specialist, speaker, credentialed health educator, and grief and loss facilitator for recovering addicts. She frequently speaks at high schools and is the host of The Grief Girl Podcast and talk radio show. She lives in Orange County, California, and took some time to talk with me about her experience of losing her husband to suicide in 2012 and how she has embodied a profound resilience that has resulted in giving others hope, information, insight, and strength while facing their adversity and challenges.
