Join Us Tonight as we talk to Executive Director of Restoration for The Friends of Historic Claflin, Rev. Richard A. Jessie.

Historic Claflin is slated to be a citywide community cultural center and is on track for a Grand Opening in September 2018.

Raised in a segregationist south, Claflin school was first built under the auspices of The Freedman's Bureau in 1868 in order to educate the children of newly-freed slaves.

In order to preserve and protect the legacy of African-Americans, we are working to restore the school and make sure it serves the purposes for which its original founders intended ... for education and for the preservation of families in the Muscogee County and surrounding areas.
