For Now:
Words of the Girl who fought Back

Nineteen-year-old Anna Nettie Hanson of Boulder, Colorado now lives with a passionate goal to spread knowledge about the far-reaching  effects of sexual assault.  She received Moving to End Sexual Assault's annual "Brave, Bold, and Beautiful Survivor of the Year" Award for her writing and involvement in educating others about her rape.

She thrives to help others learn through her experience, and her poetry enables this education. She will not be quiet about what happened to her, and is fully committed to stopping sexual violence through her honesty and bravery.

Anna is a freshman at DePaul University in Chicago, IL, studying a double major in Spanish and Communications with the hopes of continuing her advocacy for the rest of her life.
