Equality for Women by 2015 vs. 100 years more....

Join BettyJean and guest - Carolyn Cook, Founder and CEO of United 4 Equality, LLC, a non-partisan, social justice enterprise solely dedicated to outlawing the 222 year old tradition that men and women shall not be regarded as equals under the laws of the United States.  I've invited Carolyn to discuss how without an ERA, there continues to be devastating consequences for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, servicewomen in the military, housewives in divorce court, women in the workforce, etc...  We say - Enough is - E-N-O-U-G-H!

Carolyn was the architect of HJ Res. 47 introduced in the House on the 100th anniversary of Int'l Women's Day to serve as a reminder that the US cannot curb the human rights abuses of women and girls worldwide while ignoring our constitutional equality at home.  She and her colleagues in several states are committed to jump-starting the ERA campaigns in the final three states needed by 2015!  But they need our support!

Carolyn will update us on:

  • what is the ERA and why is it critically important to our future
  • two different strategies for ERA and what each means
  • voicing your support for ERA 2015 when casting your vote in 2012
  • standing up for the rights of our mothers, daughters, wives, sisters, grandmothers, aunts, nieces, etc and leaving a legacy for future generations.

Congress can only move us backward if we remain disengaged.  REMEMBER, they work for us!  Bring any and all questions to the table!  This amendment must become everyone's priority for our economic recovery.
