In this episode of Wellness Wisdom Camille interviews Meredith Roberts, a Physical Therapist and founder of “Robert’s Empowered Movement”, a community of support for people impacted by Parkinson’s disease.

Meredith shares that one of the goals of this community is to gain “better body control” for people with Parkinsons by using “exercise as medicine.”  Listen in as Meredith shares the journey of a man with Parkinsons who started boxing classes and was able to move better, create supportive relationships, and improve his quality of life.  The Empowered Movement community helps people gain confidence, security, and joy in movement.  The focus is on improving self-efficacy by helping people feel safe to overcome fears and adapt well to living well with Parkinsons.

Robert's Empowered Movement combines movement and community to allow people to "Live Well" and celebrate every victory on their way to an improved quality of life.  Learn how to start a movement program whether you are struggling with an illness or not.  Explore different types of movement, find what you love, get a coach, and create support around you.

When you move joyfully it improves our mood and gives us a sense of well-being and makes us want to do it again. What movement do you love? How can you make joyful movement a health habit in your life?
