Singer, actress and model Lane Brody visits "Flashback" to discuss her multi faceted career and her upcoming CD, "On The Wings Of Songs". She wrote her first song at the age of twelve. While still in her teens, she began a highly successful jingle career singing solos for many popular TV and radio commercials like McDonalds, 7Up, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Juicy Fruit Gum. Lane is best known for her 1984 Billboard-topping country duet hit, "The Yellow Rose" and for the Oscar nominated song "Over You" from the film "Tender Mercies". She is the first female in country music, to have an Oscar-nominated hit from a soundtrack album. Besides "The Yellow Rose", Brody has eleven other chart singles on the country charts. In addition to a successful music career, Lane has had an incredible modeling and acting career. She has appeared on numerous shows such as NBC Today Show, Crook And Chase, and the hit television show "Taxi". Lane's hit song "All the Unsung Heroes" is the title song of a 40 minute video aiding the healing process of Vietnam Veterans and their families. This documentary won the American Film Festival's Blue Ribbon Award, and is a respected addition to the Smithsonian Institution, Arlington National Cemetery and at The Vietnam Veterans Memorial ('The Wall") in Washington, DC. Lane has traveled and worked extensively with the U.S.O. in support of American troops overseas and at home.
