We will be exploring the effects of repeated deployments that stress soldiers and escalate the likelihood of psychological injuries that can last for a lifetime. There is a small, but rapidly growing, body of evidence suggesting that the same is true of their children.  The Associated Press reported that soldiers are not the only ones experiencing mental anguish. America's military kids are in crisis, presenting acute, debilitating symptoms of deployment-related stress, virtual mirrors of their parents who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

We want to also explore the effects on the Spouse mental health during these extended deployments. What are the families really dealing with and are there any stigma’s keeping them from seeking the help they need? What are some of the challenges when the soldier does return home and is showing signs of PTSD?

Learning ACE is the first step in becoming a Wingman. ACE is a simple, yet highly effective method of helping someone who is dealing with thoughts of suicide.  ACE stands for Ask, Care and escort.
