I am a ten year breast cancer survivor and first time author of a collection of survivor stories from across the country and internationally. A professional public relations and marketing professional executive and a native Washingtonian. A national award winner in print media, multimedia, and public relations. After co-chairing the Relay for Life Walk for Breast Cancer for several years in Bowie, Maryland, I decided to put together a compilation of real stories of survivors accompanied with photojournalism to help tell the story. But right now, I want you to join me, while i speak with survivors as we share our lives with you, weekly. And don't forget Coming Soon the collection of stories and photojournalism in late spring. After the urgency of getting a diagnosis and figuring out a treatment plan, there can still be many things to manage daily. Certain everyday realities may make themselves prevelant; staying organized, paying for treatment, maintainng a job, making a lifestyle change, managing symptoms, and side effects, family issues or grief. The Loving Life, I Live , stories of hope project is a collection of testamonies and photojournalism (portraits of survivors) that will motivate and inspire breast cancer survivors, patients, family, and friends through this difficult time, understanding that attitude is everything; and that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
