Today on the latest edition of Conversation, we sit down with the co-editor of Moonlight, Joi McMillian. Nominated for 13 Black Reel Awards, there is strong buzz that McMillan could hear her name called as the first Black woman to be nominated for an Academy Award next month. Over the past ten years, McMillian has worked on a multitude of projects in anonymity before getting her big chance with the soon-to-be Oscar nominated film. She shares her journey, working with director Barry Jenkins, how she discovered her passion in a non-traditional position in Hollywood and what's up next for this "overnight success" all on episode 53 of Conversations.
