You deserve more for your life.

Over the past few months, FACAA helped over 16,000 people apply for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) . This annual program helps people pay for heat in the winter.  The ages of citizens we help range from seventeen to eighty five and older.

One of the awesome realities I have seen has been the expressions on the faces of people looking for this help.  From sadness to anger, ther is a reflection of depression and weariness.  It is clear that no one likes to ask for this help, but to keep their homes warm, it is absolutely necessary to apply for assistance.  For most of the applicants, the application is an ordeal.  You see, there's a lot of shame in asking.

People in need of this help (LIHEAP) may have heard or read reports of just how much governmental leaders argue over providing it.  The helpers may be regarded as "poverty-pimps" or enablers who are paid to give away money.  Behind the scene, there are energy companies which receive the money for the accounts of the poor who are eligible for the assistance.  This is how the program works.

The governmental supply of money for this program is going to be reduced.  You will be in a difficult position for, possibly, a very cold winter if you are not prepared to pay your own bill.

FACAA wants to help!  We want you to earn wages that allow you to live without depending on the government or anyone.  You must get the strength and determination to prepare for and find a job.  Whether a GED or professional development, we want to help you.
