Bio: My name is Dwayne Martin and I started fitness as a younger child. I was always skinny and hated it so I wanted to make a change to my body. I believed that if I would start lifting that I would get bigger but I also believed that if I lift weights at such a young age that it would stunt my growth therefore I felt I came up with the perfect solution. I started curling the older model lego boxes with the handles and as I progressed I'd put more and more legos in the box. I would also do sit-ups to the point I would challenge my older brother to see who could do the most without resting. As I got older I replaced the lego boxes with 5 pound dumbells and would watch tv while curling the dumbells. I wouldnt counts reps or sets, I would just keep curling until I felt like I couldnt curl the dumbells anymore.

. When I was working out I favored benching so I would lift 2-3 times a day and add atleast 10 pounds a week of additional weight when I bench. I progressed rather quickly until I injured myself due to eccessive lifting but that didn't stop me. I applied pressure to the injury to give support and continued on. I later came to the decision of joining the Army which put my whole lifting career on hold,

. The workouts I performed in the gym became a stress reliever for me so though things were falling apart with my personal life, I found strength though it all and turned my negatives into positives. I then discovered an interest I have in Physique Competitions. I made a promise to myself that I woiuld enter in a competition so after 7 months of working out overseas I gained 33 pounds of muscle then upon arriving home I cut down 13 pounds. When I got home my personal life fell apart but that only drove me to strive even more with my fitness goals as well as shed light on what I want to do as a career and that is to do for others
