From the desk of Dr. Mary Tisdale Green RECOVER ALL WEDNESDAY : The purpose of the wilderness  is to develop faith and a rewarding intimate relationship with God.  Soul searching and “self examination” are the things that takes place in the wilderness.   During the wilderness experience it is time to “focus on the goodness of God. Dressing in a new wardrobe as Romans 12:1 and 2 talks about. Though the wilderness is indeed a dark and lonely place, if we will persevere and move through it, we will eventually emerge from it with treasures of insight, wisdom, strength and joy — heart won and precious not only to us, but also to God. It was  there that Moses was prepared by God, and it is there that we too can learn to “love  and“rely only on God.” There are “no religious crutches” for us to lean on in the wilderness. “no religious activities” in which to hide our true condition. The truth is we need to “know Christ intimately” — and intimacy only happens when we are completely alone with Him in the wilderness, where there is nobody else to turn to except Him.” Reflect upon the truths of Scripture… audibly affirm them over and over again, until they settle peacefully in your mind and heart… as we accept & identify with the truths of God’s Word. We will develop a faith that greatly pleases God, and has nothing to do with our “feelings” — the dynamic of the flesh is “feeling,”  the dynamic of the Spirit is “faith”. —  The key for us as believers is to be conformed to God’s will regardless of how we feel.

PRAYER: Thank you Lord for David  who had enough wilderness experiences to  never forgets who his God is, and he never forgets from where his strength comes .Help us get the lesson and never forget, In Jesus name, Amen.
