Should You Delay Yours Dreams in Order for Your Spouse/Mate to Pursue Theirs?

I was having a conversation with a very close friend, who shared that their spouse has asked them to put their dream on hold in order for  to pursue their own.  I was in total disagreement and could not understand why they both should not pursue their dreams simultaneously.  Of course all kinds of thoughts raced through my mind- Does their spouse want to be the only one pursuing a dream, were they jealous or intimiated?

Then I read an article from XO Necole and started to reconsider my objection.  Each household dynamic is not the same and will warrant a different course of action.
