Has the great tribulation occurred already or is it yet to come? Why is there so much controversy around what appears to be a very simple subject in the Bible. Jeremiah's prophecy of the time of Jacob's trouble and Daniel's great tribulation dove-tail in Matthew 24.

The answer to this question has quite and impact on the time of writing and the fulfilment of the book of Revelation. If it can be proven that the great tribulation has occurred in the past, it would also mean that the book of Revelation was not only written before 70AD, but was also fulfilled in that event.
