Today's Show ~  Betty Osceola Spotlight & Cyndi Lenz in-studio conversation about Florida's water-crisis.

Spotlight ~ Betty Ocseola: Everglades, Bad Bills and Clean Water

Betty is the co-founder of #SayNoToROGG ~ opposition to the River of Grass Greenway, a redundant highway with excess development that would further destroy the ecosystem of the #Everglades our most precious resource for Florida, water. Betty is also the founder of #WalkForMotherEarth, an eighty mile peaceful protest March from Naples to Miami and the upcoming #WalkForFutureGenerations that will march from Miami to Naples with press conferences and educational stops along the way. I will have the honor of joining Betty March 20th to participate in this historic event.

Right now she is holding an online event to fight two horrific Bills, SB1054 & HB803 which would allow anyone at all to excavation Miccosukee Seminole sacred burial waters while they play 'archaeologists' in the Glades. Not only would they not have to report anything that they find, such as ancient artifacts and remains, but they would also be free to do whatever they like with what they find, including placing them on E Bay. Real archaeological experts are opposed to both of these Bills. I would like to play an audio clip of Betty Osceola talking about the Everglades and what it means to her people's way of life and ours.

Itroduce Cyndi Lenz: Talking about her role in Florida's water-crisis as an clean water activist, documentary film maker, and writer and editor for www.treasurecoast.com
