In 1985, at the peak of her career and feeling like she had achieved the ultimate success, Dr. Marilyn Joyce was diagnosed with melanoma. Shocked to discover how serious that illness was, and as if that wasn't enough, a week out of hospital, she was rushed back in again with stage four uterine cancer. She was only 35 years old! Yet 4 years later, she was in a wheelchair, 88 pounds, with only a week-and-a-half to live.
