A Belle That Cares...End Bullying Part 5

My name is Kalissa Bearden I am  a 14yr old 8th grader at West Jr. High School in Oakland, Tn. I co-founded Divas for a Cure a group of young women on a mission to make our world a better place. Our goal is to encourage positive changes in our members and our community. We do service projects, raise money for charities, and encourage young people to find sucess in who they are. We are currently working on projects for Fayette County Friends of Animal Control, Fayette County Animal Control, Fayette Cares (aiding domestic violence and families in need), and an Anit-bullying, Be Yourself Campaign. We founded the Divas in April of 2009 and have well over 30 members now between the ages of 5-15. (we even added a boy group Bros for a Cause) We have raised thousands of dollars for our causes as well as donates hundreds of volunteer hours.

When I am not working with my Divas group, I enjoy cheerleading, school, and haning out with friends. I am co-captian of my cheerleading squad, president of my schools student council, Treasurer of the Beta Club, and Activities Coordinator for 4H. I am also a proud representative for Belle of the Ball Outreach organization. I look forward to highschool next year, and hope to one day become an orthodintist.
